Education: B.Sc. Biology, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Bogotá, Colombia, 2007.

Appointments: Curator of the arachnid collection (except acari), and tutor in arachnid taxonomy (mainly scorpions) at the Laboratorio de Entomología (2003-present). This work is being carried on as a member of the group ELITROS, formed by students, biology graduates and professors at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.

Research interests: Notably arachnid taxonomy, although also interested in other fields in order to study this animal group from different perspectives.  Experienced mainly with scorpions of the family Buthidae and the genus Ananteris, but to a lesser extent with other groups, such as certain Colombian scorpions of the family Chactidae, ricinuleids, and general taxonomy of spiders.  Particularly interested in the development of new research on the taxonomy of the most poorly known arachnids, either at the genus, family or order level.  I intend to "rescue" the practice of acquiring new knowledge on certain groups that seem to have been forgotten and only sporadically studied in Colombia, such as Solifugae and Ricinulei.  I am very interested in carrying on further joint research projects on revisionary taxonomy, phylogeny and/or biogeography of any of the above arachnid groups (or their subgroups), and therefore, am currently looking forward to beginning a post-graduate program.
